Now is a great time in the history of the world to reflection as we seek a better understanding of and a deeper appreciation for the traditions and contributions African cultures have made to mankind and to future generations.  It is my hope that this exhibition will travel to and be exhibited in other venues in the United States.

The exhibition consists of artifacts ranging from the 9th to 12th and 16th to 17th centuries— the early classic period of royal court art of the Igbo-Ukwu, Ifè, and Benin cultures of Nigeria and West Africa— moving into the more social-tribal and ritualistic ceremonial functional art of the west, central, and equatorial tribal regions of Africa from the 19th to 20th centuries.

In my years of collecting African artifacts, I have acquired them mostly from private collections and art galleries in Europe, mainly in Belgium, France, Germany, and Switzerland.

Many of these artifacts arrived into Europe via colonial trade. Living in Belgium, France and Germany, I focused most of my collecting on the art of the Congo and Gabon for my private collection.
