Benin Ivory Box Front Panel (Oba Shrine) On the front of the Benin ivory box is a ceremonial shrine for King Oba with a thatched roof housing ceremonial paraphernalia, standing poles, and a large UHUMWEAO ancestral effigy head of the deceased King Oba. Two military soldiers guard the shrine.
